Programme Overview
The ESEE2026 conference will take place from June 30th until July 3rd.
On the first day of the conference – Tuesday June 30 – we will have the Opening Ceremony that starts at 16:30 on the main campus of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Ghent University (aud. Quetelet at campus Tweekerken) including a keynote presentation. After the Opening Ceremony participants are invited to stay at the venue for a Welcome Reception at the premises.
The other three days – Wednesday to Friday July 1 to 3 – we will have parallel sessions of presentations (12-13 rooms) and one keynote address. All rooms for the parallel sessions are located on campus Tweekerken, where we will also have the plenaries (keynotes) in aud. Quetelet.
IMPORTANT: the full conference programme, including the parallel sessions and time slots for all presentations will be developed early May when the deadline for presenter registrations has passed. In that way we aim to develop the programme in the most meaningful and equitable way.
On Thursday evening July 2nd, we organize a Conference Dinner in the Concert Hall of nearby Vooruit. We are preparing a walking dinner setting with room for a little after-party.
We will close the conference on Friday afternoon with a Closing Ceremony (again featuring a keynote speaker) in aud. Quetelet. Here we will look back on the conference and some of the main messages we as organizers take away from it, and look forward with the ESEE Board to future events.
The European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE) will host its General Assembly on Wednesday evening in aud. Devreker – all ESEE2026 participants are kindly invited to attend and discuss and interact with the Board and other members. Next to that, the Country Contact Network (CNN) of the ESEE will meet on Tuesday afternoon.
Below you can find a tentative overview of the ESEE2026 programme – slight changes may still be implemented as we move forward with the organisation.
